About Evan

I am a Springville native. My start in visual media and communications began with a photo finishing business I started at 19, eventually growing to two locations. Over twelve years we evolved from a consumer print business to being a respected commercial photographic lab while I developed a love for graphic design and accurate color. I've taken this with me as a senior graphic designer at Evans & Sutherland, as developer of online training systems for 3000 staffers in the AlphaGraphics Network as well as establishing a nation-wide protocol for color management of digital content throughout the company's franchise system, and then with my own firm, Correct Hue. Recently I have joined the AlphaGraphics West Valley team as Creative Director and now my days are filled with challenging our design team as we create great work for our clients. I love balancing usability and accessibility with beautiful, vibrant design. We've assembled a team with many talents and my hope is that we help our clients deliver their message with impact and be a long term partner in their future growth. I am accredited with the Color Management Professional Certification from iDEAlliance and IPA. I've tried living outside of Utah, but the mountains and people always draw me back.

When working with digital photographic imagery for use in digital printing you should follow the same basic rules as when preparing images for offset print. Are you tired of the prints you pick up not turning out like you expected?  You made a bright blue or green chart in PowerPoint and you are very disappointed that the printing wasn't as bright? Well, don't be a meany and blame the printer! They are doing the best job they can from the file they are given. The problem is in the creation of the color itself on your computer screen.
