All have rules and regulations associated with their placement, and usage.

Colorado has 64 Counties in its 104,093 square miles. Each of those counties has from very,to slightly different regulations on sign usage and placement. Below is a list of resources for some of the major counties in Colorado and the regulations that have been put in place.

Denver: Find out what kind of signs NEED a permit, and what does not.

Arvada: Signs per square foot of a building have changed policy amongst others. Read the updated (from 1976!) sign code here.

Golden: The city is a little more stringent and permits are now required for all signage, permanent or temporary. Read the other regulations in place.

Wheat Ridge: A handy calculation sheet for allowed signage per square footcan be found on the City of Wheat Ridge website.

Aurora: Number of signs per business is being enforced by the city, and percent coverage of a temporary sign

Lakewood: The city has focused their policy on safety and community congruencies. Review pages 3-9 carefully to understand if your signage is legal or not.

Jefferson County: Find all your sign regulations and applications from stop signs to banners on the JeffCO website.

Be sure to reference your appropriate county when ordering a sign from AlphaGraphics Arvada. Our sales team, production manager, and even our owner Ed will be more than happy to discuss your sign needs and wants, and how we can help it come to fruition.

Some of the regulations above may seem a little harsh, or seem too stringent. But they are put in place to ensure public and private safety. Plus neon signs can be really annoying if they start to flicker. We're looking at you Golden....
