FROM OUR OWNERS | Lloyd and Wendy Race

Two successful parents and partners in life. The pandemic changed many things including our desire to own a business again. Wendy grew up with two entrepreneurial parents and owned her first business at the age of 13. Lloyd had a flourishing landscaping business in New York but gave it up to raise their three children so Wendy’s career as a global HR executive with a Fortune 100 company could be successful.

Rooted in the uncertainty of the pandemic Wendy and Lloyd decided it was time to lay down roots in their Cobb Community that they have come to love. Wendy reflects, “Business’ were suffering everywhere and we thought we could help breathe some life into one that needed a customer-first approach, Alphagraphics is all about the customer and we loved the Franchise from the start”.

Lloyd operates the business day-to-day but mostly spends time with his customers making sure that they get a premium experience when making decisions about their Marketing print needs. Wendy helps manage the growth while handling the administration of the business. Together they make a dynamic team and are excited to be part of the Alphagraphics family and are ready to service North Atlanta.

Cecile Nelson - Office Manager

With her background in service delivery within the printing industry, Cecile is dedicated to the partnership with our customers while closely collaborating with the production team to ensure the client’s print and marketing solutions are met. Besides spending time with her family, this Caribbean-born soul is fond of sports, beaches, and enjoys the outdoors on warmer days.

Julie Watson - Graphic Designer

Julie graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2008 and has been in the Print and Sign Industry since 2003. She has been with AlphaGraphics since January 2016. Julie is a Graphic Designer that also does print production, sign production, and signage installations. Julie is on the Advisory Committee which writes the curriculum for the Design and Media Production Technology Program at Lanier Technical College. She was recently one of the producers of a non-profit short film, “Boxes”. “Boxes” is shown in local churches and schools to raise awareness of homelessness and to bring new understanding to the issue. In her spare time, she loves mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, taking her dog to the dog park, and co-piloting airplanes with her father and grandfather. She is training now to run her 5th marathon and her first trail 50k next fall.

Ryan Valich - Production Lead

Ryan has been in the print and design industry all of his life. The first job he ever had was with his father at his vinyl sign-making operation, in the shop he built in the back yard of my childhood home. The feel of an X-Acto knife and the sound of a plotter zipping along rolls of glossy color are things nostalgic to him. Eventually, he found himself working in the printing industry in 2002. From there Ryan has spent time with digital, offset, and wide format printers as well as design and publishing software. He has also worked for both large and small business operations over the years and would be happy to provide solutions to your printing needs.

Owners and operators Lloyd and Wendy Race brings 25 years of leadership experience to lead our tenured and talented team, most of whom have 10-20 years invested in their craft. That experience shows in the final product. We know the right questions to ask and have the state-of-the-art equipment to turn around a more impressive product in a faster time than other printers and all at a competitive price.

Our goal is for our customers to get noticed by their customers. Sometimes that means designing and producing custom pocket folders for a pharmaceutical company that rebranded the room at a conference. Other times it means problem-solving artwork files with subtle but significant issues for an advertising agency.
