ACRYLIC SIGNS AND GRAPHICS IN MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA

Why should you go with acrylic material for your signs?

It’s cost effective and looks just as good as glass. It can be used in a wide variety of ways and have an even wider variety of finishes. Acrylic is the go to material for classic signage.

The trade show and convention circuits use a lot of acrylic in their signage. Why? Because unlike glass, it won’t shatter or break if you drop it or accidentally bump into it. It weighs a fraction of what glass weighs and it’s designed to last a lifetime. Acrylic won’t rot or fade or turn yellow with age. It simply looks good and keeps on looking good as time and years go by.

It is also very versatile in how you can hang or mount it. You can use screws or raised mounting hardware. You can use it as a nameplate for office or receptionist desks. It can be glued, taped, hung or even attached to suction cups which in turn attach to the wall or glass.

Backlit signs work wonders with acrylic. There are several special techniques that can be used, such as reverse printing which projects an image with a backlit sit as well as a light diffuser which adds a special effect to it. You can cut and layer them for a three dimensional effect and when you etch it, it literally looks just like etched glass (only your sign company will know the difference!).

If you want a more conservative, classy look, then you can add it to a metal (such as aluminum or brushed aluminum) for a real neat look and feel.

Being that acrylic is a plastic type of material, it is impervious to most damage and environmental hazards such as UV light and wind/rain/sleet/snow. You can sandwich two layers of it and put some printed graphics in between and have it serve as an outdoor sign.

The sandwich effect will cause the printed graphic to be protected from the outside elements.

If you can dream it, acrylic can do it. If you’re on a budget and looking to save money, ask us about the various signs we can create with acrylic plastic. It can be opaque or see through and there are a myriad of ways you can present it.
