an Orthodox Study of Evil and the Meaning of the Jonestown Cultic Horror by Mr. David Conn.
Mr. Conn is considered by many to be a foremost authority on Jim Jones, the Jonestown, Guyana mass suicides (or what is often referred to as the largest mass murder involving American citizens prior to September 11th), and the cultic temple of Jim Jones known as the Peoples Temple. Mr. Conn investigated the Jim Jones cult for eight years prior to the Guyana suicides, and forewarned many California and United States officials of the potential for such an event, including the murder of United States Congressman Leo Ryan, and his team of visitors to Guyana.
The author timed the release this publication to coincide with the 35th Anniversary of the Jonestown events of November 1978. In his current book, Mr. Conn explores how even highly educated academic and government leaders are persuaded or lulled into accepting the anti-social and society damaging influences of figures such as Jim Jones, and he draws very strong parallels to the current events in modern day America.
