Pantone, the color company, has announced it’s Color of the Year and it’s “Tangerine Tango,” described as “a brilliant shade of reddish orange that evokes a fireball as much as fruit.” Pantone number 17-1463 when you reference your swatch wheel. We are not surprised as orange has been popping up as a popular branding color for our customer base, large and small.
In a high school project called “ThinkQuest” students described the phychological effects of orange as being positive, of ridding the psyche of feelings of self-pity and encouraging forgiveness. It stimulates the appetite, something known in the fast food industry for decades. The Wall Street Journal states that orange is a color for “cheering up people during down economies.”
Now orange you glad you read this?
