  13. How to Contact Us

1. What is Personal Information?

“Personal Information” is information that identifies or relates to a particular individual. Examples of Personal Information include, among others, name, email address, phone number, payment information, and online identifiers. When we combine Personal Information with other information, such as the location of a nearby independently owned PostNet or Alphagraphics location or order details, we treat the combined information as Personal Information.

2. How We Collect Personal Information

  1. Information that You Provide Us

When you visit our Franchised business centers, use our online Services, apply for jobs, or otherwise contact us, we request certain information about you. The exact information we need to collect will depend on the purpose of our interaction. Examples of this information include your name, email address, phone number, street address, location, customer service experience, payment information, social security number, and other information you choose to provide to us. If you apply to become a franchisee or apply for a job with us, we also collect any information you provide to us during the application process. In some contexts, we are required by law to collect Personal Information about applicants. We also have a legitimate interest in using Personal Information to evaluate your application or consider you for other positions. If you become an employee, we will provide you with a separate privacy notice that explains how we collect, use, and share additional Personal Information about our employees.

  1. Information We Receive Automatically from You

We collect the following types of information automatically through your use of our online Services:

  • Cookies, Device Identifiers, and Similar technologies

When you use or access our online Services, we and our service providers use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies such as pixels, web beacons, and local storage to collect information about how you use the Service. This may include which links you click or what you type into our online forms. We may also track your IP address, the website that referred you to us, and data about your device. We process the information collected through such technologies to help operate certain features of the Service, to enhance your experience through personalization, and to help us better understand the features of the Service that you and other users are most interested in. We may also use this data to help detect and prevent fraud. Some of our Franchised business centers also use call-tracking services, such as CallRail or Invoca, which display unique phone numbers on our Services to tell us which advertisement or web page led to your call. Where required by law, we base the use of technologies upon consent.

Most browsers provide you with the ability to block, delete, or disable cookies, and your mobile device may allow you to disable transmission of unique identifiers and location data. Users should visit our Privacy Preference Center for more information. If you choose to reject cookies or block device identifiers, some features of the Service may not be available, or some functionality may be limited or unavailable. Please review the help pages of your browser or mobile device for assistance with changing your settings.

We honor Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals sent by your browser in the same way we honor Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals. When we detect a DNT signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for targeted advertising. To learn more about how DNT works, please visit http://allaboutdnt.com/. We recognize Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals broadcast from web browsers as a valid opt-out request where required by applicable law. Please note that the GPC will apply only to your current browser. If there is a conflict between the GPC signal and a manual choice that you have made on our website regarding targeted advertising, we will honor your manual choice.

  • Analytics

To assist us with analyzing the use of our websites and apps through cookies and similar technologies, we use analytics services, including Google Analytics.  For more information on Google’s processing of your information, please see “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.”

  • Geolocation Data

When you visit our location pages, your browser may ask whether you want to share your device’s precise location. If you allow it, we use your location only to find the PostNet or Alphagraphics locations nearest you, and we share it only with the service provider that hosts our location pages. We do not share your precise location with advertising partners. If you accept marketing cookies, we may also estimate your general location (such as your city) from your IP Address.

  • Log File Information

When you use our online Services, our servers automatically record information, including your Internet Protocol address (“IP Address”), browser type, referring URLs (e.g., the site you visited before coming to our Service), domain names associated with your internet service provider, information on your interaction with the Service, and other such information (collectively, “Log File Information”).

We may also collect similar information from emails sent to you which then help us track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. We use Log File Information to help secure the online Services by identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities and in analyzing the effectiveness of our Service to improve the Service’s function and content.

  • Advertising

Our websites may ask whether you would like us to use behavior-based advertising tracking technology. If you click “allow” or “accept” then we will allow third party behavior-based advertisers to place tracking technology on our website(e.g., a cookie or a pixel). The third party might also collect data over time and across other websites. Among other things, we use such companies to provide you with relevant advertising about our products and services on our website, or on other websites.

Where required by law, we base the use of third-party tracking technologies upon consent. You may opt-out of online targeted advertising (e.g., cookies) by visiting the Privacy Preference Center. Note that if you change browsers or devices, or if you clear your browser’s cache, you may need to click the link again to apply your preference.

  1. Information We Receive from Third Parties

These can include our affiliates, vendors, publicly available sources, and other companies. If you apply to work with us, we may collect information from other sources. For example, we may conduct a background check using a third party vendor.

If you are in Canada, our lawful basis for processing your Personal Information is generally consent.

  1. How We Use Personal Information

We use Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • Providing our Services to you;

  • Request and coordinate services if you are one of our vendors;

  • Providing, analyzing, administering, improving, and securing our online Services;

  • Fulfillment/billing/delivery of orders you place, or responding to quote requests or other inquiries you submit to us or our independently owned franchisees in the U.S. and Canada (“Franchisees”);

  • Providing customer service;

  • Sending information and promotional materials;

  • Seeking your feedback on our products and services through surveys;

  • Responding to inquiries;

  • Process applications for employment (note that if you become an employee, information that we collect in that capacity will be governed by our separate employee privacy notice);

  • Protecting our rights or our property;

  • Meeting legal obligations; and

  • For other purposes related to the reasons for which you provide Personal Information.

To the extent we maintain and use Personal Information in a deidentified form, we will not attempt to reidentify the information, except for the purpose of determining whether our deidentification processes satisfy our legal obligations.

  1. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell your Personal Information in exchange for money. However, we allow certain advertising partners, such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft (Bing), StackAdapt, AdRoll, and other advertising vendors working with our Franchised business centers, to collect information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on our Services. Some advertising partners may also receive a hashed (encoded) version of contact information you submit through our forms, such as your email address or phone number, to match your activity to their platforms and measure advertising results (for example, Google’s “enhanced conversions”). We may also allow business data providers, such as ZoomInfo, to collect information about visits to our Services to identify the organization associated with a visit. Our partners use this information to show you advertising about our products and services on other websites and platforms, to measure advertising results, and for their own business purposes. These technologies load only if you accept marketing cookies through our Privacy Preference Center, and they do not load when we detect a GPC or DNT signal. Our Franchised business centers are independently owned and operated. Some centers use additional advertising, analytics, and call-tracking tools on their location pages, from the categories of providers described in this Privacy Policy. These tools are subject to the same consent choices and opt-out signals described above. Under California law and other state privacy laws, this may be considered “sharing” Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or “selling” Personal Information. You may opt out at any time as described in the “Your Choices” section below. In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, we may disclose Personal Information in the following situations:

  • Our Service Providers, Franchisees, subsidiaries and affiliates. We employ service providers to perform tasks on our behalf and to assist us in providing our Services. For example, we engage third parties to provide administrative services, marketing, analytics services, web hosting, customer service, and payment processing. Advertising partners that use Personal Information to show you targeted advertising on other websites are not acting as our service providers; those disclosures are described above. If you place an order on our website or otherwise initiate services from our website, we provide your information to our appropriate Franchisee(s) in order to perform those services. We provide your information to our Franchisees in order to send you information and promotional materials including that which you have requested from or about such Franchisee or their services; if you wish not to be contacted by our Franchisees you may utilize the ‘opt out’ feature in any email you receive. We also provide your information to our subsidiaries and affiliates in connection with the operation of our business. We take commercially reasonable steps to help ensure our service providers, Franchisees, subsidiaries and affiliates provide at least the same level of protection for Personal Information as we do.

  • Companies Involved in Mergers and Acquisitions Transactions. If we sell or otherwise transfer part or the whole of our business or assets to another organization (e.g., in the course of a transaction like a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or liquidation), any information collected through the Service, including Personal Information, may be among the items sold or transferred, including at the negotiation stage.

  • Law Enforcement, Government Agencies, and Courts. We may disclose Personal Information at the request of law enforcement or government agencies or in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process to establish, protect, or exercise our rights or to defend against a legal claim or as otherwise required or allowed by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any other person. We may also disclose Personal Information to investigate or prevent a violation by you of any contractual or other relationship with us or your illegal or harmful activity.

  • Other Disclosures with Your Consent. We may ask if you would like us to share your Personal Information with other unaffiliated third parties who are not described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

Some areas require us to disclose whether the following categories of Personal Information are collected, shared with third parties for a “business purpose,” or “sold,” or transferred for “valuable consideration.”  The table below indicates the categories of Personal Information we collect and transfer in a variety of contexts.

  1. How We Protect and Retain Personal Information

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, such as industry-standard encryption technology, to help keep the information collected through our online Services (including credit card information) secure. This includes the purposes of satisfying legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for Personal Information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Personal Information.
