Website Design -Online Marketing 101

Much of the success of your website can be decided on how your website looks to your audience.  Website design is critical to making that first impression and for gaining credibility for your target market. A 'good' website design can be in eye of the beholder, but here are a few bench marks  that you should take into consideration when creating your website:
  • How easy is it for the user to navigate?
  • How well can your website sell? (are the call to actions obvious?)
  • Do you have clear branding presence?
  • How can you evoke trust from your audience?
  • Does your site appeal to your target audience?
  • Can your site be found easily?
Taking the time to plan all of this out can be time consuming, and may not even be part of your expertise. But if you do not have a budget to hire a website designer or graphic designer to help you out, take the time to create a plan that answers the bench marks. It be well worth it. One of the most important bench marks that gets overlooked has to be the effectiveness of converting leads on your site. It has been said that in today's 'digital era' that your website is your number 1 sales person.  Rule 1 of sales is to: Ask for the sale. If you have not set up your site to effectively communicate with your audience, then you have failed your investment. For this reason alone I think if a business is serious about having their site be an integral part of their business  you must invest in a professional to get you to where you should be.
