The Importance of Being Found on Google

It goes without saying that in order to succeed in business, people need to find you. And when I say find you, I mean on Google. Makes perfect sense, right? But the fact is, many small businesses fail miserably at that very fundamental thing. Many feel all that is needed is a website and some business cards, the world will beat a path to your door, and you can take your piles of cash to the bank each day and not have a worry in the world. Wishful thinking. Here are three things that we do to help US get found on Google... Paid Search: When people are looking for something, say a pizza place in North Olmsted, they typically "Google it". If you are a pizza place in North Olmsted, you better be sure you are showing up on page one of that search. We use Paid Search (Search Engine Marketing) to make sure we're at the top of the search results. It ain't cheap (you pay a fee to Google each time someone clicks on your ad), but it works, and it's trackable. I get a weekly report telling me exactly how many people called or emailed our business center as a result of a Paid Search call. Organic Search: The same as Paid Search, but free (kind of). Generally speaking, much of the inquiries you will get are a result of organic search. Much more difficult to track and validate, but still a very important part of your overall strategy. Blogging: Bringing relevant traffic to your website is vital to your business, and blogging is one way to do that. It also gets noticed by those mysterious Google algorithms, which helps boost your organic search results. Again, difficult to track but absolutely critical to your online presence. The beauty of being with the Alphagraphics Network is that we have these incredibly smart people that get all that stuff, and can make it happen. So, is your website "Google-ized" (not a real word, just one I made up). If not, it'd be something that should be on the top of your "to-do" list!
