When Richard and Shirley Stolarski first arrived at our offices more than a year ago to discuss publishing a book that would capture three years of his photography, we had no idea we were meeting someone who had helped to identify the ozone hole and to understand its role in this world’s changing environment. Only later, as we were discussing the timeline for the publication of his beautiful 300-page book, did it come to light that Richard was a renowned environmental scientist with an illustrious career spanning decades, during which he had worked tirelessly with teams of physicists and chemists to understand global warming and climate change.
So, we couldn’t have been more pleased when this amazing scientist who had published dozens of papers mentioned his book, Photography in the Time of Covid-19, as a highlight of his publishing career. The AlphaGraphics team was deeply honored to make the book a reality for him. We helped Richard select which photos were to be published, to refine his accompanying text and captions, and to design a layout that would display his travel and landscape photos so each page was a singular source of inspiration.
