Wait a minute, Mr. Postman...

Penny-pinchers rejoice!  Those little copper coins are about to have a value again, thanks to the USPS.  So dust off your piggy banks, raid your change purse, and empty all 672 pennies in that guessing jar! They say a penny saved is a penny earned, unless you're going to the post office later this month.  Starting January 22nd the USPS will be increasing the postage rate for first class stamps by $.01.  The change to 45-cent stamps marks the first increase for first class since 2008. The rates for first class will now be:
  • Letters (1 oz.) – 1-cent increase to 45 cents
  • Letters additional ounces – unchanged at 20 cents
  • Postcards – 3-cent increase to 32 cents
  • Letters to Canada or Mexico (1 oz.) – 5-cent increase to 85 cents.
  • Letters to other international destinations – 7-cent increase to $1.05
Standard mailing rates will also increase, but priority and express rates will not be effected.  Visit the USPS's official release for more information. If you asked for our two cents, we'd probably tell you that the postal increase, which was announced last October, comes as no surprise.  However just like you, we understand the value of those little Abe Lincolns, and we want to help make the transition as painless as possible. Let AlphaGraphics help you save a few pennies on your next mailing with our wide variety of mailing services. Or save even more pennies (and probably a few dollars too!) by doing an Every Door Direct Mail - an easy and cost-effective way to reach potential customers without needing to purchase a list! Give us a call today for more information!
