Wall & Window Graphics

Wall and window graphics capture the attention of window shoppers by letting the brand liven up the building.

Make your storefront a conversation piece

Wall and window graphics bring in customers and reinforce brand identity to keep them coming back.

Every touchpoint is an opportunity to create a lasting impression for your brand, and that includes your retail and office space. Wall and window graphics can be used temporarily to promote a short-term sale or event or permanently to brand your windows and walls.

Think of the walls in your office building or retail building as advertising space. Cohesive window and wall graphics work together to present an eye-catching but professional image. It’s these details that not only bring in customers, but increase loyalty as the shopping experience is now more memorable.

Wall & window graphic options

Some common window graphic options include:

  • Window clings: Window clings adhere to glass using static electricity and can be easily applied, rearranged and removed, making them perfect for temporary promotions or seasonal decorations.
  • Window perf graphics: Window perf graphics stick to the window and have tiny holes or perforations that allow one-way visibility so people on the inside can see out, but people on the outside see the printed graphic. This makes them popular for storefronts, vehicles, or windows where privacy is important.
  • Frosted window graphics: Subtle and sleek, frosted window graphics adhere to a glass surface and are semi-transparent. They’re commonly used to decorate office or retail windows or doors, offering privacy. These can be permanent or temporary.
  • Window lettering: Window lettering can be applied to any glass surface. They can display logos, business names, contact information, hours of operation, and other essential details to passersby.
  • Window shades: Digitally-printed, branded window shades offer an alternative to typical white blinds or drapes, providing branding opportunity and practical function.
  • Imaged glass: Imaged glass can include etched patterns, printed images, or laminations directly onto the glass surface.
  • Murals and wallpaper: Floor-to-ceiling custom murals and wallpaper can create a strong visual and boost morale.
  • Indoor banners: Indoor banners can be used for events like conferences, sporting events, graduations, or exhibitions to draw attention to your brand, product, or sale or create a cohesive themed or branded environment.
  • Framed & fine art prints: High quality paper stocks and precise printing techniques allow you to print framed and fine art pieces. These can range from family portraits and large-scale photographics to artwork for room decor.
  • Interior dimensional graphics: These graphics allow you to print text, graphics, or logos that stand out from walls to have a three-dimensional appearance. These are ideal for waiting areas, hallways, menus, or wayfinding signage.

Wall Graphics
Dress up your store windows and walls with window and wall graphics from AlphaGraphics of Alexandria and Arlington.
One of the more challenging aspects of running a brick-and-mortar store is making it appealing for people on foot. If your building has plain windows and walls, it really doesn’t have the look or feel of many major chain stores. People might unintentionally assume your products or services are as basic as your walls and windows.
Thanks to the high-tech printers at AlphaGraphics of Alexandria and Arlington, you can add modern-looking graphics to your storefront windows. If you’re unsure as to what kind of graphics will look best, our expert graphic designers will sit down and provide you with a few ideas.
You can also opt to get temporary window graphics that will allow you to promote seasonal sales and events. Once they’re over, you can easily take down the graphic and store it in a closet until you need it again next year.
Cleanup is a cinch—simply take a damp rag (no chemicals) and gently wipe away any accumulated dirt, grime, or debris. Your window graphic will spring back to life and look at good as the day you first installed it.
Want a more luxurious and refined look? Some businesses will pay thousands of dollars to have their storefront windows frosted. The only problem is that many business owners are under a lease that does not allow material changes to the storefront glass.
Fortunately, you can take advantage of frosted window graphics—they look just like the real thing but won’t damage or mar the glass. Stick on and when you’re ready for something new, peel off.
Depending on the angle of your Alexandria or Arlington brick-and-mortar business—you might suffer from the blinding effects of the morning or late afternoon sun. You can get perforated window graphics made up that will allow some light to enter but block out the majority of the bright rays.
A great way to get inspired is to visit a national brick-and-mortar store that sells the same products as you do. Take a walk around their aisles and look at their walls. For example, many major sporting goods stores have pictures of people hiking in nature or playing sports.

These wall graphics are economical and easy to install. Take some mental notes as you walk through your competitors' stores, and this will provide you with many new ideas for your window or wall graphics.

Window Graphics in Alexandria and Arlington VA
Window graphics play an integral role in attracting customers to your business and increasing engagement. In order to create the best custom window graphics, you should be familiar with the major types of window graphics. Let’s discuss them in detail.

Window Decals
One side of the window is covered with adhesive to attach window decals. You can use window decals on the outside or inside of the window. Since a strong adhesive material is used to attach the decal, you can think of this as a semi-permanent window sign. Once the adhesive has fully settled in, it can be very difficult to reposition the decal.

Opaque Window Decals
Opaque decals are capable of obstructing the visibility from either window’s side. It is typically done to ensure that once you have placed your window sign, no clear section of the window is left to affect the appeal of the sign.

Clear Window Decals
As the name suggests, clear window decals mean the window will be clear from all sides except for the part where the window sign is placed. Such kind of vinyl decals is useful for stores that want to provide two-way visibility.
If you are using clear window decals, you should make sure that you are using appealing contrasting colors to enhance the overall look of the sign.

Perforated Window Decals
The purpose of the perforated window decals is to ensure one-way visibility. By placing these signs, you can see outside of your business and not vice versa. In other words, people coming to your store will be able to see the decals, but they won't be able to see the inside of your business. Perforated window decals are typically used for car window graphics to ensure driver visibility while also promoting the business.

Static Clings
Static clings are different from traditional stickers because they don't have any adhesive material attached to them. You can easily remove and reapply these types of signs. Generally, static slings are used as a sneeze guard, such as inside a restaurant. They come in both opaque and clear types.

Cut Vinyl or Vinyl Lettering
If you want to place window graphics that are made of different pieces, then you should consider using cut vinyl or vinyl lettering. It involves cutting the individual pieces without any border and applying them to a suitable surface individually instead of a single decal.
Overall, these various types of window graphics allow businesses to choose a suitable material and fulfill their requirements.
